Age Verification Policy

Spark Twice is an adults-only service. Every applicant must be at least 18 years of age, and we verify age at multiple points in the membership lifecycle. This policy describes how that verification works and what happens when a minor attempts to apply.

1. Minimum age

The minimum age to apply to or use Spark Twice is 18 years. This requirement is set out in our Terms of Service and reinforced at the point of application. Applicants who are not 18 cannot create a membership, regardless of any other qualifying factor.

2. Date of birth required at application

Every applicant must provide their full date of birth (day, month, year) during the application process. Date of birth is a required field. An application cannot be submitted without it.

3. Real-time age check at submission

When an applicant enters their date of birth, the application calculates their current age in real time. If the calculated age is below 18, the application is immediately blocked from proceeding. The form displays an inline error explaining that membership is restricted to adults, and the applicant cannot continue past the date-of-birth step.

To reduce data-entry errors, applicants are also shown a confirmation step that displays their calculated age before they continue. They must confirm that the age shown is correct before the application moves forward. This catches typos in the date-of-birth field that would otherwise inflate a true minor's age.

4. Identity check against age

Accepted members complete a live selfie verification before becoming active on the platform. The selfie is compared against the photos submitted during application using facial-recognition (biometric) technology; how that works, the consent it relies on, and how long the resulting face template is kept are explained in our Privacy Policy. This identity check is not a standalone proof of age, but it does help ensure that the person using the account is the same person whose date of birth was recorded.

5. Discovery of underage members after acceptance

If, at any point after acceptance, Spark Twice discovers (through member report, behavioral indicators, content review, or any other means) that a member is under 18, the member's account is immediately suspended and removed from active matching. Their data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including the deletion procedures described there.

6. Reporting suspected underage members

If you believe another member may be under 18, please report them immediately using the report function on their profile or in your conversation thread, or contact us directly via the contact form. We treat reports of suspected minors as a high priority.

7. Parental requests

A parent or legal guardian who believes a person under 18 has applied to or accessed Spark Twice may contact us at any time via the contact form. Please include enough detail for us to identify the account (email used, name, approximate application date). We will investigate and, if confirmed, immediately remove the account and any associated data.

8. Marketing and advertising

Spark Twice marketing and advertising are targeted exclusively at adults. We do not advertise on platforms or in contexts intended for minors. Our positioning, imagery, and messaging are aimed at adults seeking serious long-term relationships.

9. Policy updates

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
